Happy in the End
A series of inked illustrations that are digitized, screen printed, and then painted on canvas wrapped around hardwood panels. I was inspired to use some of the most clichéd pop culture signifiers - skulls, flowers, and succulents due to their impersonal monotony, their fluid meaning, and their ability to generate aesthetic pleasure. By repeating and juxtaposing these symbols, I hope to generate iterative patterns, and disruptions that demonstrate the flux of signification with a perspective that is both hopeful and ironic.
